I picked this image because I found it interesting. It tells us about slavery back then, and how whites got to sit at the front of the bus and African Americans has to sit in the back. No matter the age of people back then if you were African American you had no choice, you had to sit in the back. On the site it says that this photo was taken a few weeks before Rosa Parks refused to give her seat up.

In the article it says "The picture that did more than any other to humanize the cost of the Great Depression almost didn’t happen." I find that statement to be very true when I look at this picture. It show you just a little bit of what family has to go through during the Great Depression. You can see the pain and fear in this mothers eyes as she has her kids close to her. I think that is why I like this picture so much, is cause you can see the emotion in one picture.

On Christmas Eve in 1963 this picture was taken of a young couple lost in each others eyes and how happy they are. Back then slavery was still a thing and I find it cool that these people could still get away from all the tragedy and the bad times going on. They still manage to be happy at times and have fun with each other.
